TouchTunes Network and Rhino Entertainment To Promote Release of 'Break Up' by Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson
Integrated Video and Touch Screen Ads Will Promote Album’s Availability
NEW YORK – Sept. 15, 2009 — TouchTunes, the largest interactive entertainment network in North America, has partnered with Rhino Entertainment to promote the September 15 release of Break Up (Atco/Rhino) by Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson. TouchTunes will cross-promote Break Up on its integrated network of digital jukebox screens and Barfly television screens. Custom messaging on Barfly will be leveraged to encourage plays of Break Up tracks on the jukebox.
“TouchTunes’ on-screen promotion for the album release includes custom-designed banners and a 30 second video of Pete Yorn and Scarlett Johansson that is designed to attract customers to play the new tracks at the TouchTunes jukebox. Ads on TouchTunes’ Barfly TV screens will compliment the campaign by featuring animated graphics that encourage patrons to play the album. TouchTunes will be tracking Break Up plays and capturing the influence of the Barfly messages.
“Only TouchTunes can run integrated messages on both the digital jukebox and the location’s TV screens using Barfly to engage patrons. This goes well beyond traditional marketing. We’re providing exciting new possibilities that demonstrate that TouchTunes is the ultimate interactive entertainment network,” said Vicki Saunders, vice president, digital media and music marketing, TouchTunes. “Our 40,000 locations across the country offer artists the unique opportunity to simultaneously promote album releases to music fans while giving them the chance to hear the album too!”
The Break Up track listing is:
1. Relator
2. Wear And Tear
3. I Don't Know What To Do
4. Search Your Heart
5. Blackie's Dead
6. I Am The Cosmos
7. Shampoo
8. Clean
9. Someday
Truly a one-of-a-kind album, Break Up brings together critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Pete Yorn and the multi-talented Scarlett Johansson. In this deeply emotive yet hook-filled song cycle, Yorn and Johansson reenact the tempestuous course of a love affair on the rocks in captivating detail. The album contains eight original compositions by Yorn, ranging in tone from the lilting opener “Relator” to the disarming, retro/futuristic “I Don’t Know What to Do” to the climactic “Someday.” Completing the collection is a powerful interpretation of the art-rock classic “I Am the Cosmos” by the late Chris Bell, co-founder of the quintessential cult band Big Star.
