TouchTunes Interactive Networks Announces Exclusive Playlist in Support of “Record Store Day” Event

 

Promotion to Feature Sony Music Entertainment Artists and Jukebox Sweepstakes


NEW YORK – April 2, 2010—TouchTunes Interactive Networks, the largest interactive in-venue entertainment network in North America, has announced an exclusive promotion presenting a special “Record Store Day” playlist on TouchTunes digital jukeboxes nationwide. In partnership with Sony Music Entertainment and Record Store Day, the playlist will highlight music from a variety of Sony Music artists being made available exclusively at participating independent record stores nationwide on Record Store Day, April 17 2010.

Beginning April 2, fans can listen to the Record Store Day Playlist, which features remixes, b-sides and live versions of songs by fan favorites such as Elvis Presley, MGMT and Modest Mouse. Users will also be able to enter for a chance to win exclusive copies of all the releases featured on the playlist, as well as a Sony USB Turntable. Entry to the sweepstakes will be available on TouchTunes digital jukeboxes and online at www.touchtunes.com/recordstoreday. The promotion will run on more than 15,000 digital jukeboxes through April 20 and will also be promoted on BarflyTV’s expanding network of screens in bars across the country.

The first Record Store Day was held in 2008. Today, more than 700 record stores in the United States participate in the event, along with hundreds more from around the globe, bringing together independently-owned record stores with customers and performers to celebrate the culture of the record store. Record Store Day is celebrated every third Saturday in April and features in-store performances and events along with CD and vinyl releases made exclusively for participating indie stores.
